Carpet Tile Benefits
What are carpet tiles?
The benefits of carpet tile flooring
Modular carpet tiles are 4 times more efficient as compared to broadloom carpet. Modular tiles are not only easy to fit, they are much easier to store and with the i2 feature, even easier to replace the same color & design after years of use.
They’re durable
We go beyond standard wear and tear testing with our Colour Fastness Test (Test designed to access colour change caused by light & wear on carpet surface), Castor Chair Test (Test designed to simulate effect of castor chairs used in commercial spaces on carpet) and Vetterman Drum Test (Test designed to simulate constant walking traffic). Learn more here.
They’re versatile
Individual tiles can be swapped with ease if damaged, or if you simply want a change. They’re easy to mix and match too – so you can be creative and work tile-by-tile.
They can improve indoor air quality
Indoor air quality is proven to affect the health, well-being and productivity of people who inhabit a space. Breathe easier with carpet that protects against the growth of mold, mildew and other odor-causing microorganisms. Learn more here.
They offer superior acoustics
Sound-reducing flooring is an ideal solution to mitigate the effects of noise in any space, and at Interface, we design our products with acoustics in mind. More here.
Low total cost of ownership
Together, all of these benefits make carpet tiles excellent value for money.
The technical benefits
Available in either 50x50 cm squares or skinny 25x100 cm planks, our LVT module sizes are the same as our carpet tiles.
Some colours are light-reflecting
Certain carpet tile colours have a high light reflecting value (LRV). This means that the tiles reflect more light, so less artificial light is needed to illuminate them.
Simple installation
Carpet tiles are typically much simpler and quicker to install than broadloom. And, TacTiles® make installation easy, clean, and sustainable. Made from PET with virtually zero VOCs, they connect horizontally with backing that ‘hugs’ the floor, so there’s no need for glue.
An environmentally friendly option
Carpet tile installation produces less waste than broadloom, and as single tiles can be replaced, entire carpets don’t need to be ripped up and discarded when damage occurs.
Industry-leading carbon footprint
We have a history of sustainability, and have reduced the carbon footprint of our carpet tiles by over 60% – making it the lowest in the industry.
Net-Works
Interface has partnered with the Zoological Society of London to buy discarded fishing nets from some of the poorest communities in the world. The nets are recycled into new yarn for our carpet tiles by Aquafil. The benefits? Fewer ghost nets, less virgin materials, and a new source of income for the communities. Learn more here.
